
David Christopher:
Artistic Director and Conductor
David Christopher continues as artistic director and conductor of the Delaware Valley Chorale, a position he has held since the 2005-2006 season.
One of the area’s leading conductors, Mr. Christopher’s repertoire ranges from
classical to pops, jazz and gospel works. Recent appearances have
included leading the OperaDelaware Chorus and Orchestra, the
City of Wilmington’s “All-American Tribute Orchestra”, and “The
Best of Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts” for the DuPont Clifford
Brown Jazz Festival.
In February of 2007, David made his debut with OperaDelaware conducting Gilbert and Sullivan's "Gondoliers" to critical acclaim. This season as Associate Conductor, David will conduct "Die Fledermaus" in February of 2009 and play harpsichord for "Marriage of Figaro" in May of 2009.
As
the founder of the Wilmington Children’s Chorus, Mr. Christopher,
in collaboration with the City of Wilmington and a team of talented
educators, has created a world-class chorus for young singers in
the greater Wilmington area that provides music education, vocal
training and performance opportunities for children of all cultures
and backgrounds.
He is currently Organist and Director of Music
at The Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew, a dynamic
multi-cultural parish in downtown Wilmington. As well, David performs with violinist Andrew Irvin in the Irvin/Christopher Duo. A recognized
authority on developing children’s voices, he served as a faculty
member of the Rudolf Steiner School in NYC specializing in teaching
pitch-challenged children as well as the boy’s changing voice.
In addition to having sung on opera and concert
stages throughout the country, Mr. Christopher is one of the area’s
leading voice teachers, and works with many active professional
singers. A native Delawarean, David is a resident of Wilmington and is proud to be part of such an active and excellent arts community and looks forward to its future growth.

Jeffrey A. Manns:
Interim Artistic Director
Jeffrey Manns was recently appointed Interim Artistic Director of the Delaware Valley Chorale, in Wilmington, Delaware. He is currently Director of Music at Aldersgate United Methodist Church also in Wilmington, Delaware. Jeffrey is a sought after soloist and chorister, having sung tenor with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Muncie and Indianapolis Symphonies, Louisville Chamber Ensemble, the Heartland Chamber Chorale, and the St. Louis, Columbus (GA), and Flint (MI) Symphony Orchestras. In addition, Jeffrey performs with the nationally acclaimed Santa Fe Desert Chorale (Santa Fe, NM), the Tucson Chamber Artists (Tucson, AZ), Princeton Pro Musica (Princeton, NJ), Vox Humana (Dallas, TX), and Spire (Kansas City, MO).
In 2004, Jeffrey made his Carnegie Hall debut performing the Fauré Requiem under the direction of Charles Dutoit, and in 2006, was honored to be selected as the Countertenor soloist for the North American premiere of Polish film composer Zbigniew Preisner's Requiem for My Friend.
Jeffrey, a graduate of Ball State University, has previously served on the voice faculties of Goshen College and Indiana University/ Purdue University of Fort Wayne, as well as Artistic Director of the Fort Wayne Männerchor/ Damenchor and Alamogordo Community Choir and Orchestra. Jeffrey lives in Wilmington, DE with his wife Rebecca and their two children, Savannah and Gabriella.
Nancy Chronister accompanist
Nancy Chronister is a piano teacher and accompanist in the Norristown, PA area. She has been musical director for many area high school productions, and also works in both community theater and other professional venues. A graduate of West Chester University, where she studied under Dr. Robert Bedford, she has accompanied many choirs, and solo artistis. She is the assistant music director for Christ Covenant Church in Harleysville directing the children's choirs and accompanies the Senior choir. Ms Chronister has been the accompanist for the Montgomery County Community College Choir for the past four years.
